i have been meaning to blog for approximately a month now. i'm a big slacker. but now that i'm here...
first off, for those of me who isn't going to portland in the next few weeks, i found a website with some great high resolution photos of oregon, which have definitely come in handy in providing me with mac house-missing windows background images.
it's easter vac here at oxford, which means 1)six weeks of no undergrads 2)all my graduate friends have left, as well and 3) you do ho. incidentally, my supervisor also left yesterday for 8 weeks in kenya and thailand (sorry, no painfully adorable cartoon for thailand).
in other news, i went out for amazing (AMAZING!) dim sum in london on friday. probably the highlight of my week. of course, it was like £20. but that's why i don't get to eat it every day. later friday, i had some very good belgian beers and. and that's pretty much the only thing i've done in the past week, other than study.
scary thomas story: so about 5 week ago, i got an email from scary thomas (yes 'that anthony really has it together' scary thomas), saying that one of his friends was coming to england and wondering whether i might show her around oxford for a day in exchange for lunch. having learned at least a little bit from living with greg for a year, i accepted the challenge. turns out his friend works at letty owings (cool) is in recovery (a concept which seems to escape england entirely) and had never eaten thai food (gasp!). so we had thai for lunch, she enjoyed seeing oxford. and i enjoyed showing her around. it could have gone much worse, i assure you.
in other news, i'm working on starting a new organization to help LGBT students at religious high schools and universities advocate for themselves. i miss feeling useful. 16th century alienated monastic property may be fascinating, but it's not really helping anyone out.
ok. time for bubba to run. i miss and love you all. i hope porltand is beautiful for you and that the roses are in bloom.
