goodness gracious st ignatius. sounds like quite the time in LA, shannon. and i'm glad you missed the power outage.

bern, i think i'm jealous of you. i'm beginning to get quite bored, and i'm wishing i had a bit more spending money in my pocket.

generally, i'm good. bored. went to seattle this past weekend and had a grand time. went to a big gay birthday party friday night and met a stranger editor and a stranger writer (both gay, the writer, eli, absolutely adorable, jewish, and a 1999 columbia grad. super nerdy. YUM). so that was a good time. then i walked from the party back to rob's condo with this guy jesse who was up for an adventure. we made the 8 mile walk in 3 hours, arriving at rob's at 4 am. it was fun times.

saturday i went to a dinner party thingy at cyrus's house. that was fun. it was good to see him. he wants me to go to egypt, tunisia, and morrocco (sp?) with him this january. i told him i'd consider it. after dinner, we went to this unbelievably trendy bar (the pampas room) and had unbelievably expensive martinis and listened to jazz. it was very un-JV. then i went to gay bars and danced the night away. perfect saturday night.

an interesting addendum to the weekend was meeting an AMAZING guy who knows my friends rob and kyle and my cousin michelle. he's from spokane, but he's currently a phd/md student at berkeley/ucsf. he's spening the upcoming year living with a migrant farmworker community. completely fascinating. a rare find. so that made me happy. and now i'm going to eat. big surprise there.
