so i don't hate chicago, i just hate work. the shelter is out of control, and i can't stand it anymore. i have a mind to quit right now, but then i would feel bad for the added stress it would put on co-workers. damn this stupid job that has made my life a boring, stressful, living hell.

other than that things are good. i flew to burlington last weekend (only after helping bern chase a squirrel out of our apartment. it had snuck in while we were sleeping. bern awoke to a squirrel running back and forth a ledge in her room. very traumatizing indeed!) and surprised suz for her birthday. it was a great weekend, making me realize how much i miss having a life.

i'm thinking about getting a cell phone pretty soon so i can actually catch up with everyone. i'm still planning a little southern road trip in early july, so i'll be in touch to find out where everyone is and when they'll be around.

is it just me, or is today's get fuzzy especially for shannon? what do you make of it?

after months and months of only being pissed at the bush administration, i'm glad to say this NPR story made me laugh. listen to the links. they are great.

we had a resident attack a staff member this week at work, so i've been working her shifts and mine. life is crazy! i hope to catch up with you all, but there's not a lot of time for that right now. hopefully i can write more soon, but right now my library time is just about done.
